An Eclectic, Sophisticated Collection For Kitchen And Baths By Raymond Waites

Teacups and coffee mugs, vintage plaids, utensils hanging amidst fruits and vegetables, simple stripes and elegant faux marble – are among the fresh, innovative and unique wallcoverings in Imperial’s Raymond Waites Kitchen and Bath for Imperial Home Decor Group.

I sought inspiration from traditional American themes and global images from around the world, said Waites. You’ll find patterns inspired by exotic elements from Europe, Greece and the Far East as well as classic images from Early America, all reinvented for a modern world which clings to the beauty and romance of these places and times, yet craves fresh, exhilarating looks and unique style.

To make the kitchen especially warm and elcoming, the designer took everyday kitchen items and incorporated them into several unusual patterns. There’s Batterie de Cuisine - a whimsical wallpaper with a variety of knives, forks and spoons in backgrounds of rouge, onyx vanilla and almond. Coffee mugs and teacups are the focus in patterns called Expresso and Café; and in Kitchenette there’s cups, utensils, fruits and vegetables in a cameo style pattern in dill and rouge. Other sideswalls include Cantonese Kitchen – Chinoiserie with scenes of Dim Sum bars and Chinese cooks in gardens; and tri-colored Vintage Plaids, a pattern for kitchen or bath.

To make the bathroom a personal, private oasis or a smaller guest bath in which a feeling of comfort is instant, Waites took seashells and placed them on beautiful faux finishes of blackberry and cognac and buttercream for his Cuomo pattern. Milano is borders with diamond shapes filled with faux marble – to add a luxurious feel to the bath or kitchen.

Today’s kitchens and baths well thought out spaces, said Carolyn Resar, vice president of marketing and design for Imperial Home Decor Group. The kitchen most of all has become the social center of the home, a place where family and friends talk, share and live – making its décor even more significant.
