CookTek Announces Release OF Magnawave Induction Woks

CookTek, the only U.S. manufacturer of induction cooking and heated delivery systems, announced today its continued commitment to superior foodservice equipment solutions with the release of its new MagnaWave Induction Wok cooktops. Available for purchase in both countertop drop-in and portable, free-standing models, MagnaWave Induction Woks are the newest addition to the company’s line of proprietary induction technology-related cooking systems.

The highly anticipated release of the MagnaWave Induction Woks comes on the tail of their initial debut to the commercial foodservice industry last fall at NAFEM ’01 in Orlando. The systems come available in both 1800-Watt and 3500-Watt units.

CookTek’s induction woks are designed and engineered to maximize efficiency in a number of foodservice applications, such as cooking stir-fry dishes in display, or exhibition, cooking environments. With the increasing popularity of display cooking stations in the culinary world, CookTek’s induction woks will prove to be extremely fast, safe, clean and energy-friendly tools for cooking professionals requiring accurate and even distribution of heating at precise temperatures.

We’re very pleased to offer a product that will increase performance and speed-of-service for our customers, and ultimately, their customers, said Robert Wolters, Jr., President of CookTek. CookTek’s induction woks are the perfect complement to the display cooking environment, ensuring optimal techniques in food preparation.

MagnaWave Induction Woks are constructed of a stainless steel housing and aluminum control box along with a shatterproof plastic wok bowl. An induction coil surrounds the bottom of the plastic bowl to allow for maximum heating distribution of an induction-compatible wok pan. The unit is also equipped with a built-in SmartTemp processor that performs precise temperature control, auto shut-off and self-diagnostics to prevent overheating.

Chefs praise CookTek’s induction woks for their flexibility, quality and safety in limited environments that often prohibit open flames. The wok cooktops offer a particularly simple and quick solution to tableside food preparation requirements.

CookTek’s induction woks produce incredible heat in a very short amount of time, said popular chef Warren Mah, Executive Chef and instructor at Florida Culinary Institute in West Palm Beach, FL. I was impressed with their performance from my very first use of one of the initial production models. The 3500-Watt unit will be a great addition to my own kitchen.

Induction cooking equipment uses heat generated by electromagnetic energy, operating on a fraction of energy used by traditional gas or electric sources. Units provide instant, controlled heat to induction-compatible pans directly, allowing cooking surfaces to remain cool to the touch, therefore preventing the possibility of burn injuries or accidental fires from occurring.

For added convenience, CookTek is also offering a line of stainless-steel, induction-compatible wok pans to accompany the wok cooktops, providing a one-stop, single source for end users’ complete induction wok needs.
