PANASONIC DEBUTS NEW KITCHEN APPLIANCES

At the International Home and Housewares Show this week in Chicago, Panasonic will introduce some of its most successful appliances sold overseas to the American market. The company plans to roll out its Super Grinder, Thermo Pots and Electric Roaster, marketed under the National brand name in Japan and other countries, under the Panasonic label in the U.S. this month. Thoughtfully designed and equipped with innovative features, these appliances further demonstrate Panasonic’s ideas for life message .

Designed primarily for grinding meats, the electric Super Grinder is a heavy-duty gourmet tool with a powerful, 550W motor and automatic circuit breaker to prevent motor burn-out. All the machine’s parts that touch food are constructed of metal, including the cutting blade; coarse, medium and fine plates; and removable, easy-to-clean hopper.

The Super Grinder is ideal for those who are health-conscious and want to control exactly what ingredients go into the foods they prepare, said Paul Mizuki, National Marketing Manager for Panasonic kitchen appliances. This product will appeal to those who choose to prepare ground-meat recipes at home with only the freshest ingredients and without commercial additives. It is perfect for grinding meats for hamburger, meat loaf, meatballs and pâtés, and for making home-made, gourmet sausages.

The National-branded Fish Roaster is well known in Asian communities across the U.S. as well as overseas. Now, under a new name and with a broadened marketing strategy, this highly versatile, multi-purpose appliance is ready to go mainstream.

The versatility of this appliance, with its roasting, grilling and broiling capabilities, makes it perfect for preparing a wide variety of meat, fish and vegetable dishes, said Mizuki. Traditionally used for preparing fish dishes, this appliance is well-equipped for the preparation of not only many Asian dishes, but also Spanish, American, Mediterranean, Creole and Middle Eastern cuisine, so there is a definite mass market appeal.

The compact, 900W roaster/griller/broiler features a timer, an adjustable-height roasting rack and adjustable top broiler element for precise, even cooking. It also features a roomy, enamel-coated roasting pan. The unit incorporates an innovative, built-in smoke and odor filter. Best of all, this appliance is easy to disassemble for thorough cleaning: the rack, pan and even the broiler element are all removable.

Panasonic will ship the roaster/griller/broiler, model NF-RT300N, to specialty gourmet retail outlets in major U.S. markets this month.

Panasonic’s Electric Thermo Pots boil water and keep it at a set temperature for as long as the unit is on. They provide an easy and convenient way to keep hot water on hand for coffee, teas, soup and baby formula. A Dechlorination Mode reduces chlorine in tap water for better tasting beverages. Safety features include a locking lid, cool-touch body, dispensing lock, detachable magnetic power cord, 6-hour energy-saving timer.

At the Housewares Show this week, Panasonic is also offering previews and demonstrations of other innovative products under development.
