Swedish Software Challenges Big Players in the Kitchen Design Industry

Configura Inc., a subsidiary of the Swedish software company Configura Sverige AB, will present a new kitchen design software at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago, IL, Configura for kitchens is a software application designed for professionals in order to create 2D layouts, 3D renderings and calculate prices.

We are convinced that the kitchen design software market is ready for a new generation of design tools. He continues: The fact that we feel ready to enter the highly competitive North American market as a small European player, is because we feel confident that we have a very strong product.

Configura Inc. has chosen to showcase its kitchen design software for the first time in North America at the K/BIS 2004 show in Chicago. Demonstrations of the application will be performed on a regular basis. The first company to invest in Configura for kitchens was the Swedish kitchen cabinet manufacturer Marbodal, part of the Nobia group. Nobia is Europe's leading kitchen company with sales of approximately USD 1.4 billion and 6,175 employees.

Configura will be launched during 2004 throughout Marbodal’s distributor network consisting of more than 500 people. Marbodal’s investment in Configura proves the strength in our technology, says Configura’s President and Co-Founder Johan Lyreborn. He continues: We are convinced that American companies will find great interest in our solutions for the kitchen industry.

We will offer them new ways of thinking when it comes to selling kitchen.
