Try woks and stir-fry pans as a healthy method of cooking your next meal

There was a time that woks and stir-fry pans were only associated with ethnic cooking. That is not the case today. As people have become more health conscious and aware of how they prepare their foods, woks and stir-fry pans have become practical. They add an option to preparing food that does not require much oil or grease for the cooking process and make it easy to incorporate a variety of foods in one dish. Many people that live in a small space do the majority of their cooking in the fast easy manner afforded by these items. Cooking in this manner allows you to cook a whole meal with both meat and vegetables in just one pan.

There are many different types and sizes of woks and stir-fry pans. They may be very small for home use or extremely large in commercial kitchens. It is possible to purchase the ones for home use as electrical appliances rather than pans that require a stove and heating element. This simplifies the use of a wok especially. It is also less dangerous as you do not need an exposed hot element beneath you pan.

The quality of woks and stir-fry pans varies and you should be concerned with the material it is made of and the thickness of the bottom of the pan. A thick bottom will make the cooking more even and will discourage burning. Stainless steel is recommended as a superior option and also offers durability as a feature.
